WHAT WE DO

Octave acoustique is a Canadian architectural consulting firm specialised in acoustics. Besides enabling a symbiosis between the individuals of the auditorium and the performers, we also provide other acoustics support since 1992 in Canada.

We ensures a faithful transmission of the sound which many companies benefit for feasibility studies and realisation of the biggest projects carried out in Quebec and overseas.

Our services is mainly theatres design, including the intelligibility of soundproofing and the control of mechanical or environmental noise... but our offer is not just limited to amphitheatres, we also serve for the (1) Group Housing & apartments, (2) Institutional and commercial buildings, (3) Industrial facilities

We invested a proportional amount of energy and founds in R&D to improve the technical aspects. Furthermore, the close collaboration with architects, engineers, scenographs and more particularly with the clients, insure a total satisfaction of each user.

THEATRES CONCEPTION

The scenic arts required without discussions an acoustical support dedicated allowing the audience to perceive all sound. It s'a tricky task, particularly for historic sites which architecture was not originally conceived for contemporaneous requirements or for recent amphitheatre which the dimensions and forms render sound texture more difficult to perceive into its entirety.

ROOM ACOUSTICS

We have developed an advanced methodology called "Active Reverberations with Controlled Reflections" which allows to minimize the energy loss of the signal (the sound), ensure a faithful sound transmission and an adequate reverberation of sound waves.

SOUNDPROOFING

We possess a large and diversified experience in soundproofing. Our society has conceived and developed economical and efficient solutions, as well for multi apartment residency as for industrial, commercial and institutional buildings, insuring the intimacy for users.

CONTROL OF BACKGROUND AND ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE

Ventilation systems, electrical transformers and mechanical rooms are a plurality of sources of noise and vibration which increase discomfort. Plus, Residential areas can be bothered by the presence of too important noise produced from roads, factories, construction site etc.
